Spike the Ultra Dinosaur is an awesome oversized, plastic dinosaur that stands 27 inches tall, with gnarly teeth, textured green skin, a yellow belly, and lots of serious spines. Imaginext Spike will make any young dino-enthusiast swoon. You need to put Spike's legs and tail into place before he is ready to roam the earth.
Spike Ultra Dinosaur, an Imaginext toys from Fisher-Price, will bring the roar of the prehistoric world back to life. Flashing eyes, flashing lights, and grunting Dino voice makes this huge green remote control dinosaur, an excellent and fun companion for adventurous play. Spike the Ultra Dinosaur is robust and inquisitive and has a quirky personality that will draw children aged three to 10 in the exciting world of their own imagining.
One thing you must ensure is that all three connection points on each front leg is firmly attached, or Spike the Ultra Dinosaur would struggle to walk.
As soon as your child will turn him on, the spikes on this long-necked dinosaurs back and tail lights up, and he starts to blink his eyes. Big, kid-friendly buttons on durable remote control will let your child make Spike the Ultra Dinosaur turn left or right, step forward and swing his neck around. The Imaginext Spike can be a bit tricky to maneuver at first, but with only a few moments of practice, he becomes incredibly easy to control.
Another thing parents will want to ensure full charge the included NiMH rechargeable battery for their children get their hands on this dinosaur, a process that can lead to four hours. Like many other great toys, Spike the Ultra Dinosaur requires a convenient wireless remote control three AA batteries (not included) for operation.
Push one of the four middle buttons triggers a new action. Your child can choose to have Spike the Ultra Dinosaur stand on his hind legs, hanging his head low or swinging around his neck while releasing a tremendous roar. There is another button to control the movement of his jaw. Your child will spend hours of leisure practice of combining movements to tear the plastic boulders from the ground or throw them in the air (a skill we never perfect).
The coolest of all is the mystery button that lets Spike the Ultra Dinosaur pick any motion he wants to perform. Your child can press it again and again to get a sense of his playful nature. There are two sound modes: Continuous background music accompany the play or just listen to the occasional growls, snorts and roars.
The well-built Spike the Ultra Dinosaur was still strong, even after hours of our robust tests. Even though he may not have been happy with the way we dropped the remote again and again, our Imaginext Spike just kept right on doing all the dinosaur thing that makes him such a fun addition to any family. We got him through some of the test, as it crashing into the table legs while trying to get him to crawl over obstacles that are simply too high.
We must admit that while this dinosaur is recommended as a companion for children aged three to 10, although adults can be expected to be charmed by Dino Spike's fun-loving personality. We sure were!
